Last night was the opening for "Affinities", MAC's first in-person show since 2019, and it was an amazing event. Colleen did a great job representing the story of MAC and introducing each artist to the crowd. Nancy Agati, Nathan Pankratz and Kate VanVliet each spoke so well about their work and the artistic process. When Colleen asked if I wanted to say something, I declined. Honestly, I think I was just too overwhelmed with emotions last night. It was really intense to see so many artists, neighbors, family members and friends - some who I've known for years and some who I just met last night. I even saw a former student/artist there. I think I would have started crying f I tried to speak to everyone present last night. I am incredibly thankful to the artists, Nancy, Nate and Kate, for making such beautiful work, worthy of the celebration and grateful to everyone who made it to the reception. It means so much! ~ Andrea

We are so excited to invite you to the Opening Reception of "Affinities" this Friday, May 22nd, 6 - 9 PM.
This is a three-person show of artworks by Nancy Agati, Nathan Pankratz, and Kate VanVliet.
It is also our first in-person show in the gallery since pre-pandemic times. We love the miniMAC project, but we have seriously missed the opportunity to commune with the artwork, artists and art lovers in person.

We’re pleased to share that we’ll be holding our first artist’s reception since we launched miniMAC 5 years ago, in the middle of pandemic!

MiniMAC was a way for us to continue to be connected with the artists we love and with our neighborhood when everything was locked down and vaccines were just beginning to be available. Since then, it’s continued to be a labor of love, acting as a bridge between the 10 years we spent running MAC (the full-sized version of Mount Airy Contemporary) and the current day.

But we miss you! So please join us for refreshments and conversation with artists Rebecca Schultz and Cindy Stockton-Moore. We hope to see you soon.
