We might have just uncovered one of the OG spray foam jobs. 😂

Doing demolition on this house and we opened up the walls to find spray foam that looks like it’s been there for a LONG time.

Here’s what makes it interesting: nobody seems to know when it was installed. We’ve talked to people familiar with the property going back roughly 40 years, and nobody remembers it being done.

Spray polyurethane foam started making its way into construction decades ago, but finding an installation this old during a residential demo isn’t something we run across every day.

And this is exactly why I love working on old houses.

You start demolition thinking you know what’s behind the walls…

Then the house hands you another piece of its history.

Anybody in the insulation or building-science world want to take a shot at dating this stuff?

How old is the oldest spray foam you’ve ever torn out? 👇

I can’t wait for the Internet to kill me for making a mistake when I said concrete instead of cement. I really hope that the Internet forgives me..
But anyway, day two demo is a wrap. KMA

Each one, teach one.

Nobody in this industry knows everything.

At some point, somebody showed you something. A better way to frame it. A trick that saved you three hours. A supplier who actually answers the phone. A subcontractor you can trust. A lesson somebody learned the expensive way so you didn’t have to.

That’s construction.

We like to think we’re competing against each other, but the truth is none of us gets very far alone.

Your electrician needs a good GC. Your GC needs a good plumber. Your plumber needs a good tile guy. And eventually, everybody needs somebody who knows something they don’t.

Your network is part of your toolbox.

So when you learn something, pass it down. When you find good people, connect them. When somebody calls asking for advice, answer the damn phone.

There’s plenty of work out there.

We don’t make this industry better by guarding everything we know. We make it better by raising the people around us.

Each one. Teach one. 🔨🤝

It sounds good saying “ I did this s**t by myself” ….. but truth is we all have friends and people that help us along the way.
I just wanna say thank you to my circle. Love y’all 💙
