Please be careful during these next few cold days.

*******With the cold weather thats headed our way, Big Spring Fire would like to remind you, Please do NOT plug space heaters into extension cords or power strips!!
Plug them directly into the wall outlet!!!
Extension cords/ Power strips are not able to handle the high current flow that a space heater can put out and can overheat causing a fire.

WATCH OUT ‼️‼️

This is what can happen when you plug a space heater into a power strip… 🫣

They are not designed to handle the high current of electricity that a space heater draws. This can melt the power strip and lead to an electrical fire. Be sure to plug your space heater directly into the wall outlet to avoid this!
