The power of pinch pruning!
I spend a little time every day pinch pruning my annual containers. Even though I’ve been spending a lot less time on these two lately, that time spent in the last few months are paying off now by still flowering nice and full. I’ll be posting videos on how to pinch a number of different annuals soon. Stay tuned and comment an annual that you’d like to see!

A quick review of a vegetable I’m growing in the garden this year. Zucchini Gold squash. I love this one! They’re very tasty and I’ve used them a dozen different ways in meals from salads to seasoned and grilled. I’ve picked at least two a week for well over a month. I’ve usually grown squash in the ground with no supports. This year, I put a tomato cage around it and it’s still pushing new growth. I give it a five star review! If you have a vegetable garden or even a large container, try this one out next year and see for yourself!

From Sean the Plant Man!!!

Coneflowers (aka Echinaceas) are easily one of my top five perennials. They are relatively native, disease resistant, long blooming flowers that love the sun. There is a lot of hybridizing going on which has resulted in some fantastic colors and styles. They come in all shades of pink, red, yellow, white and orange (no real shades of blue or violet). They usually come in sizes from 10" to 48" inches. If you find the right color and right height coneflower to put in your garden, it can be a true standout. If you have any spots in the garden with full sun, choose a variety of coneflower!
