What landscape techniques go unnoticed most often? Succession planting is one of the most important and most often forgotten techniques. Instead of waiting for plants to decline, new plant material is introduced to keep landscapes healthy as they mature. Think of it as planning for the future before there's a serious problem.

What can you learn from a new perspective? Maybe the pathways are more used than expected, the tree canopy is lopsided, or maybe you learn what gathering spaces are most used. Sometimes we learn more about our communities from changing how we look at them rather than changing them outright. What's something you've noticed recently about your community that you hadn't seen before?

What happens before we put plants in the ground? Crews check irrigation, test soil conditions, and make other adjustments to give the plant the best chance at thriving. It tends to go unnoticed but always plays a major role in a landscape’s health and success.

Arizona's summer months are the true test of a landscape's planning. The properties that look the best throughout the summer are the ones that aren't scrambling when temperatures rise. Planning for the heat helps the landscape respond well to it. What are you seeing on your community as we enter the hottest part of the year?

It’s important to remember that landscaping isn’t always about big transformations. Sometimes it’s loading equipment, cleaning up after a job, and handling the routine tasks that keep a property moving. But every once in a while, you look up and remember why Arizona is such a unique place to work.

What makes Agave different? There's not just one simple answer. It's the experience we've built since 1990, the people who represent us daily, and our willingness to support communities through all their hardships. Most of all, we're represented by the relationships we've built.

We tend to notice a community's turf, shrubs, and irrigation. But some of the most important indicators of a landscape's health are actually overhead. Tree structure, canopy density, and clearance over walkways and streets change gradually, making them easy to miss until it's a big problem. So the next time you're walking your community, remember to look up!

The best properties feel organized, cared for, and welcoming from the moment you arrive. A lot of that comes from the landscape itself, which is why attention to detail is so important. Healthy turf, maintained trees, clean edges, etc. all work toward a feeling of a cohesive, well-managed property.
