Microtopping is an ultra-thin polymer cement layer troweled over existing concrete. When a slab is sound but stained or dated, it creates a clean, minimalist surface without tearing anything out, and it’s thin enough to keep existing thresholds and transitions.

Not on its own. Cracks and failing coatings are ground down and patched first. Skip that step and they telegraph right back through the new surface once the microtopping cures.

This patio went from cracked and patched to one clean, continuous finish.

Yes. Even a brand-new slab can carry curing compounds, surface laitance, dust, and closed pores that keep a coating from bonding. Diamond grinding opens the surface so the coating can grab the concrete, whether the slab is new or decades old.

In Arizona, plan to have sealed pavers, flagstone, and exterior concrete checked every 1 to 3 years. High-sun and high-traffic areas may need attention sooner.

Three signs it’s time:
— the finish looks dull
— water soaks in quickly instead of beading
— joint sand is loose or washing out

Often, yes. Many older pool decks can be brought back with crack repair, surface grinding, patching, re-texturing, and a fresh acrylic finish.

During the estimate we look for hollow areas, delamination, drainage problems, and movement cracks, so you’ll know whether restoration is the right call or whether the deck needs more.
