Please, join me in congratulating CJ McAllister, PE who just obtained his Professional Engineering license as a Civil Engineer in the State of Arizona. CJ graduated as a Construction Engineer from Arizona State University and has been engaged in the industry from an early age. He started his career sweeping floors and doing office work at Fortis before attending high school at New Mexico Military Institute During his summer breaks from college, he did estimating at Fortis, and internships at First Solar, Sundt and Kiewit. After obtaining his engineering degree, he became an engineer at Kiewit working on the Phoenix Valley Metro Rail South Central Extension and for Arco Construction. CJ is also an Eagle Scout
CJ has now rejoined Fortis Engineers as the lead for our Arizona office and of our Civil Engineering division.
According to the National Society of Professional Engineers, only 20% of engineers obtain their PE License.
A Professional Engineering license is a certification that highlights an engineer’s adherence to higher standards. It is an indicator of dedication to integrity, hard work, creativity, and an assurance that the individual engineer has passed at least a minimum screen of competence.
Furthermore, the PE license demonstrates that you have the equivalent of a four-year engineering degree, four or more years of progressive experience, multidisciplinary understanding of physics and engineering, and have passed 2 very comprehensive engineering board exams
