Our completion of The Escape Game highlights our expertise in entertainment and retail space while bringing a highly popular escape room destination to Heritage Marketplace in the heart of downtown Gilbert, Arizona.

Themed entertainment buildouts are a unique kind of tenant improvement. In the case of The Escape Game, this included a highly interactive guest lobby, seamless AV integration and market-leading sound isolation to support five fully immersive, multi-room escape experiences, where the construction itself had to disappear into the story.

Can't wait to see East Valley families, friends and corporate teams enjoying this new local attraction.

Big hair, neon and leg warmers. Stevens-Leinweber Construction, Inc. showed up to the annual Immedia Bowl-Off in full 1980s fashion, a fitting tribute to our 45th anniversary year as a company founded here in Phoenix in 1981.

Another legendary year for this Immedia and NextSpace event!

Some projects are destined to serve a community for years to come, and this 34,291 SF Stevens-Leinweber Construction, Inc. renovation for Scottsdale Bible Church Tempe is a great example.

Transforming an older building into a new worship facility with educational space, our scope included Sunday school and small group classrooms, a worship space, coffee bar, two warming kitchens, a large amenity area and an outdoor children's playground.

The team worked through several structural challenges along the way and, through close collaboration with church leadership and project partner HKS Architects, delivered a functional and welcoming space for the congregation.

Special thanks to church stewards David Scholl, Scott Edwards, Tim Reckell, John Niziolek, Don Sullins and Joe Van Abel. We wish SBC Tempe many years of joy in this refreshed space.

Speak Up at the First Symptom... Dizziness, headache, confusion and nausea are not “push through it” moments. They’re indicators of more severe illness to follow. Here are heat stress warning signs to watch for, from Stevens-Leinweber Construction, Inc. and our trusted safety consultant, Premier Risk Management:

• Heat-related illness often begins with muscle cramps and visible face reddening. Watch for these in yourself and your coworkers, and seek medical assistance when needed.

• Symptoms can advance from here, from a rapid pulse and heavy sweating to weakness, dizziness, irritability and nausea or vomiting.

• If not treated, heat illness can progress to heat stroke, marked by high body temperature, confusion, loss of coordination and even seizure or unconsciousness.

If you feel it, say it, and if you see something, say something!

Shade Is a Safety Tool... Reducing direct sunlight produces a cooling effect by several degrees, so even five minutes in the shade can reset your body and prevent heat stress from escalating. Here are some additional ways to put shade to work this summer, from Stevens-Leinweber Construction, Inc. and our trusted safety consultant, Premier Risk Management:

• Wear long sleeve shirts to protect from UV rays,

• Take scheduled breaks in provided jobsite shade areas.

• When possible, plan workdays around shaded areas of a project.

• Seek relief in the job ite construction trailer if necessary.

Drink Before You’re Thirsty... In triple‑digit heat, dehydration hits fast and quietly. If you wait until you feel thirsty, you’re already behind! Here are some tips to remain safe and hydrated this summer on Arizona jobsites, from Stevens-Leinweber Construction, Inc. and our trusted safety consultant, Premier Risk Management:

• Drink water all day, not just when it's convenient. The Center for Disease Control suggests drinking one quart of water per hour during the jobsite workday.

• You're drinking water today for tomorrow's heat exposure, so hydrate every day before work, during work and after work.

• Hydrate responsibly. Caffeine, energy drinks, alcohol and sugars are dehydrators that can diminish your heat readiness.
