There’s a different kind of pride that comes with building something that directly shapes futures.

The West-MEC Career Academy at Agua Fria is a 31,000 SF four-building campus built for workforce development. It houses technical training environments and specialized labs for electrical, HVAC, welding, and diesel technology, all designed to replicate real industry environments.

From a construction standpoint, this project pushed our team! It required fast-tracked six-month delivery, complex sequencing, and 18 permits to keep momentum moving!

But standing on site now, seeing students training in those spaces is a reminder that great construction isn’t just about what we build, but who it serves.

Grateful to be part of a project that strengthens the workforce pipeline in our own community. Get ready for Phase II!

Last week's GCON Gives Annual Golf Tournament was an incredible success!

Thanks to the generosity of our players, sponsors, and supporters, we raised an amazing $55,000 for Billy's Place in the West Valley and their mission to provide a safe and supportive community for children and families through grief.

As Construction Safety Week comes to a close, we’re reminded that safety is personal.

Our CEO, Mike Godbehere, reflects on growing up in a construction family and witnessing firsthand the physical toll this industry demanded from its workforce. That experience continues to shape GCON's commitment to building a safety culture around protecting the longevity, wellbeing, and future of every person who steps onto our projects.

As we continue Construction Safety Week, today’s focus is on one of the biggest challenges our teams face in Arizona: heat.

Safety means planning ahead and protecting our people before risks become incidents. GCON's joint venture with Lease Crutcher Lewis has incorporated a Hydration Manager in the job whose 100% focus is supporting all crews throughout the day, across the 85-acre jobsite.

In this video, GCON Safety Engineer, Joseph Barr, and Banda Group International, LLC, Hydration Manager, Adam Rawls, share how proactive heat safety measures—from water and electrolytes to shaded recovery areas—help keep teams safe, alert, and prepared in extreme jobsite conditions.

This level of care and collaboration is what Safety Week is all about. When partners come together with a shared commitment to people, everyone benefits.
