📍 Buckeye Lake Project – Progress Update

This home is really starting to come together 👀

So far, our team at Goat Roofing & Restoration has completed:
✔️ New asphalt roofing
✔️ New metal roofing
✔️ Board & batten siding
✔️ Dutch lap siding
✔️ New window wraps
✔️ New fascia

We still have new gutters and a considerable amount of painting left to complete, but we’re very happy with how this project is shaping up.

💡 About the insurance portion:
Approximately 90% of this project is being paid for through the homeowner’s insurance after a proper inspection and documentation process.
That said, the homeowner chose to go above and beyond the final insurance scope of work, investing in additional upgrades and improvements to truly elevate the home.

GOAT Roofing & Restoration – Back to Work After Thanksgiving! 🦃➡️🐐

We took Thanksgiving Day off to spend time with our families, but today we’re right back at it here in Newark, Ohio.

The home in these photos already received a brand-new roof from us, and now we’re moving into the next phase: installing Dutch Lap siding in the color Regatta — a clean, soft blue that gives the home a fresh, modern look without being too bold. 🔵🏡

Once the siding is complete, we’ll be installing new 6” gutters to finish off the exterior the right way.

Yes — this entire project is being paid for by insurance.
The carrier? We’ll just call them… “Big Red.” 😉

🐐 GOAT Roofing & Restoration • Sunday Grind 💪

Even though it’s Sunday, the GOAT crew is out here working hard to make sure our homeowners are taken care of before the season ends. When storms hit Central Ohio, we show up — seven days a week if necessary.

Today our team was all over the map:

🔧 Buckeye Lake, OH – Prepping for the metal roof install tomorrow (removed the old metal today, replaced the decking, and fully dried it in)

🔥 GOAT Roofing & Restoration — Thornville / Buckeye Lake Project Update 🔥

Big week for one of our customers out in the Thornville / Buckeye Lake area!

We’re currently installing:

✅ Board & Batten siding
✅ Dutch Lap siding
✅ New fascia
✅ New window & door wraps

And this Monday, we’ll be finishing it off with a beautiful new metal roof.

As with many of our projects, this build was paid for by insurance due to a recent storm.
➡️ The initial claim was just $13,000… after proper inspections, documentation, and code-required items, we brought it to $77,000.

That’s what happens when you hire a contractor who knows how to advocate for you.

Had to make a quick stop today at Thornville Hardware Supply for some nails — and if you didn’t know, they’re the only hardware store in Ohio with a liquor license. You can literally grab your hardware AND a beer at the same time.
Support local businesses… especially the fun ones. 🍺😄

Some wins feel bigger than a roof — this one was about persistence, trust, and taking care of family. 🐐❤️

We finished this roof at 1:45 PM today and are cleaning up as I post this.

This claim was an absolute battle with Big Red. The back-and-forth took so long that the GOAT yard sign in the front yard literally faded from the sun while we were fighting to get this approved. That tells you everything about the process.

But we don’t quit.
We don’t walk away.
We fight until the homeowner gets what they’re owed.

The homeowner is a repeat customer, and this roof was for her mother’s home — which makes this win even more meaningful.

Proud of the team. Proud of the trust. Proud of this finish.

We started this roof installation this morning — but getting here was a battle… 😤

The insurance company (we’ll just call them “BIG RED” 😉) originally claimed the roof damage was “mechanical / man-made” — basically insinuating vandalism.

But here’s the truth ⤵️
We don’t play those games. We documented everything and requested an engineer inspection.

👨‍🔧 The engineer confirmed it WAS storm damage
✍️ BIG RED was forced to approve repairs
📄 With proper documentation, an 8-shingle repair became a FULL roof replacement ✅

Most contractors won’t take on BIG RED because of their high denial rate…
