🔥 Learning, Growing, and Doing It the RIGHT Way 🔥

Over the last few years, we’ve pushed hard for training, education, and doing things by the book. And through that process, I learned something that honestly aggravated me:

For years, I was trained to install fireplaces the wrong way.

Not intentionally — it was just “how everyone did it,” the so-called industry standard. But once you get the correct training… once you understand the actual codes and manufacturer specifications… you can’t unsee the mistakes.

And when you know the right way, you’re responsible for doing it.

That’s been the biggest challenge — not just changing my own mindset, but trying to help others do the same when they’ve done it the wrong way for so long. Many people still want the quick, cheap fix. They want the fast dollar.
But that’s not who we are.

Here’s where Smoky Mountain Fireplace & Smoky Mountain STR Services stand today:

✅ We follow the code — every time.
✅ We follow manufacturer specifications — no shortcuts.
✅ We correct what isn’t right — even if someone else said it was “fine.”

🔥 SMF / SMRM — Electric to Gas Conversion

Before & After

Another upgrade completed! This cabin originally had an old electric unit that wasn’t putting out much heat and wasn’t giving the homeowners the look they wanted. We removed the electric insert and converted the fireplace over to a clean, safe, and efficient ventless gas log set.

✔️ Gas line installed to code
✔️ New gas log set + shutoff
✔️ Firebox cleaned up and restored
✔️ Everything tested, safe, and ready for use
