Some action at Daikan Park in Houston, Texas!! On top of regular gameplay the Houston Astros Organization also holds many outside events like concerts and group events! Even with massive budgets and protective matting stages and foot traffic do a number on the turf!
The field is Seashore Paspalum and the turf is grown out in Florida! So when needed the entire field is stripped, sod is cut and trucked in refrigerated 18 wheelers to be installed and often played on the following day! Grow lights on wheels are used often to compensate for areas of the turf that get less sun even with the roof opened due to shadows! Super cool stuff for us Turf Nerds!! 🤓
