During Cold Weather:
Protect Your Plumbing System! When temperatures drop, implement the following precautions to safeguard your plumbing system: maintain a thermostat setting of at least 55°F, even when the premises are unoccupied.
Ensure warm air circulation by opening cabinet doors under sinks and in bathroom cabinets.
Permit faucets to drip slightly during extreme cold snaps. Refrain from using open flames to thaw pipes due to fire and electrical hazards.
Keep garage doors closed if water supply lines traverse the area.
Prepare exterior pipes for the impending freeze by insulating hose bibs and backflow devices on sprinkler systems.
Operate pool pumps continuously during extreme cold to prevent freezing and potential damage.
Stay warm and safe.
