The temporary utility pole is set, inspected, and ready for the electric company to install the construction service.

The electricians removed most of the old wiring and wired new lights in the attic to accommodate the removal of the two furnaces. After removing the furnaces, we will vacuum and clean the entire attic.

We had a consultation meeting with the electrical and plumbing inspector, which went well. Our team and the city are all on the same page on this full-gut remodel in the Garden District.

The plumbing company laid out the new plumbing and will return on Monday to start removing the pipe and replumbing the home.

The dumpster company switched out a small dumpster that was brought by mistake and left us a 20-yard dumpster. Parking and changing out dumpsters have been a challenge for the narrow brick street in the middle of the city.

The Mansura custom build didn't start taking shape until 7/2/24. It's exciting to see the framing process finished and all the windows and doors installed. This is when the client and the neighborhood can see the home take shape.

Be on the lookout for our new job site security cameras on all our builds. We decided to take our home builds to the next level by adding an LTE security camera to all of our home builds. This will give us 24/7 access to the build to help keep up with deliveries, equipment, and materials. We also provide the homeowner full camera access via the smartphone app. This system is our new standard for job site security.

The Arlo cameras will send a live push notification to your phone. You can listen live and talk back through a built-in speaker or activate a loud siren. You log in the address of the job site into the camera through the app and with one button and type a description of whats happening and choose to have the police department, fire department, or EMS to respond to the job site. The camera can also be tracked through version if stolen.

We started the pour a little before 6:00 am Saturday on our Mansura custom home build. We had Rufino’s construction, River City ready mix, and Louisiana concrete pumpers all on-site, working side by side and taking care of business. We also can not forget about the Avoyelles Parish Permitting Department, Rapides Parish Planning Commission, and their inspectors, Cleco, Abbott Plumbing, St Romain Electric and Hardy at Stines and their entire team, for making the show happen.

Working with some of the most professional companies in the game is a pleasure. The pour was smooth. The weather cooperated, River City’s team was one point, we had one of the managers on-site working the trucks in and out of the site. Louisiana concrete pumpers had an excellent operator on scene. Rufino’s construction had the right attitude and man power for a professional job. The homeowner even cooked for the entire job site making us a delicious lunch oh and he brought us donuts and coffee that morning. It was truly an a great day for some good old fashioned home building.
