Kissed by the sun!
This is a 3D printed model for a prototype home designed on the Southside Slopes. Our Fisher ARCHitecture Roanoke is designed to be a live-work building, with the two portions of the project β a 1,600sf home above and an earthbound office below β connected via an elevator and also an exterior ramp. Together with our engineering team, we devised the structural strategy that resulted in the triangular shape of the primary structure. This solution would allow building foundations more cheaply on a very steep site, with limited access from heavy machinery.
There is a lot of explorations around the facade! You can learn more about the project here: https://fisherarch.com/portfolio/neuroarchitecture/
