When our neighbors need help, we literally roll up our sleeves, bring along our resources, and get to work.

Here you can see our staging area, stocked with PPE, dump trailers, and flood clean-up equipment in support of the Connersville Relief Effort. It’s our way of building community -- through the good times and the challenging times.

We're honored to share that Sargent has won a 2026 NECA Project Excellence Award for the Brunot Island Crescent 138 kV Transmission Line Replacement.

This project replaced a major electrical artery feeding the City of Pittsburgh and the surrounding region. For those unfamiliar with the local terrain: running 15 miles through Southwestern Pennsylvania is no small feat. The corridor cuts through steep hillsides, wooded ridgelines, and urban infrastructure -- terrain that is inherently hostile to the heavy equipment needed for monopole installation.

The award is a testament to the mastery and ingenuity of our team.

Some projects hold a special joy.
The solar array we installed for Northway Christian makes them the first community health center in Pennsylvania to adopt solar for backup power, protecting over $50,000 in perishable medical supplies from outages.

A Pittsburgh health center is the first in Pennsylvania to install its own solar battery system, keeping care running during power outages.

We are pleased to announce that Sargent Electric Company, a Nearing Visabeira company, has acquired Apopka, FL-based Carter Electric Inc..

Based in Central Florida, Carter Electric brings more than 20 years of experience, over 300 employees and a strong track record across commercial and industrial projects, medium-voltage infrastructure services and specialized electrical construction for healthcare, entertainment, municipal and institutional markets. With Sargent, Carter will be able to pursue both larger opportunities and additional market sectors across the region.

Together with Sargent Electric, JF Edwards Construction Company and Verità, this acquisition further strengthens our ability to deliver integrated solutions across the U.S. energy and telecommunications markets.

This acquisition reinforces Nearing’s long-term growth strategy, expanding our operational platform in one of the fastest-growing U.S. markets while creating new opportunities for our customers, employees and partners. It also marks another important milestone for the Group, with our combined annual U.S. revenues now surpassing the $1 billion mark.

Shh… want to know a secret? That uppermost deck on this parking garage isn’t for cars. It’s a stealth enclosure constructed out of fiberglass to conceal those cellular towers. The secret is out: Aside from being master electricians, our crane operators know how to play a super game of Tetris.

Our Great Lakes Division excelled in safety practices that go above and beyond industry standards throughout 2025. And they landed this neat trophy to show for it. Well done earning the Wisconsin Chapter NECA's premier award for Safety Excellence!
