Shoutout to Full Moon Services LLC!

We’ve had the opportunity to use Full Moon Services several times now for our lift and equipment rental needs, and they’ve taken great care of us every time. Dependable equipment, great service, and always easy to work with.

We’re glad to have a local company we can count on and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing rental equipment.

Today officially marks our 20 year anniversary! 🎉

On September 18, 2006, Rodney was issued his Virginia class-c electrical contractor business license. Our family had took a trip to Charlottesville earlier that month for him to take the test and the rest is history. Earlier in 2006 he was issued his Master Electrician license, you have to have both a business contractor license and master tradesman license to maintain a business.

The original vision for Hancock Electric was for it to be a family business and a legacy that Rodney could pass down to his sons. Rodney took his sons to jobsites over the years and trained them both in the field, where Matthew started his career as an electrician and now Master Electrician, and Jacob learned the basics but went a different route, only to end up in our office in late 2022 as Operations Manager. Caitlin joined the company in June of 2022 as Operations Coordinator after she and Matthew married, and Barbara has been the original Business Manager since the start. From the early years when Rodney was juggling HE with Klopman Mills, to going full-time with the business, to pulling back to join another company full-time, and later moving on to teaching the trade while still doing HE jobs occasionally, he maintained the vision of having the business for his sons. And in 2020, Matthew joined full-time, and he and Barbara worked together to manage and maintain the business with Rodney while the rest of us (including Rodney) were on other career paths. Running a family business has its challenges, it isn't perfect and at the end of the day we're people too—we certainly have to learn to have grace for each other some days. Of course there are good days too, but even in the clamor and the chaos Hancock Electric is a family run business, for better or for worse. And we always strive to deliver the quality that we would expect from others in our homes.

We're so very grateful for the team members who have worked with us in the past and who are currently on our team, we couldn't do this without you. We have been amazed watching you all throughout the years, and it's great to hear from guys who worked with us way back in the day too.

From the tiny jobs to the large ones, to the ones that challenged us, the ones that changed us, the ones we had to learn the hard way, the cold ones, the hot ones, that spread us thin, that blessed us, that drove us... we are so thankful for these experiences. Moreover, we are so thankful to you, our customers - some of you have been with us the entire 20 years, and we thank you for believing in us, and our family. To all of our customers, we thank you for calling us.
