At the end of the day, we’re all Americans, neighbors, loved ones.

Let’s all take a collective breath and show empathy to one another. Put yourself in the other persons “shoes”. 👠🥿

Nobody likes a boastful “winner”.

Nobody likes a sore “loser”.

If you believe this is the best result, show the other side how that’s true. Do the right thing. “Make America Great Again”. Protect women’s rights. Promote a peaceful society. Give us a healthy economy. Protect us from those who wish to harm us. IT WON’T BE EASY.

If you believe this is the worst result, help to make it better. Try to be a positive force. Promote love, compassion, and understanding. Try to be open minded. IT WON’T BE EASY.

Four years from now, I hope that some of you are proven right and have followed through on your promises. You’ve got a lot of work to do to. Our country is divided, fearful, and vulnerable.

Four years from now, I hope that some of you are proven wrong. Not because I want you to be wrong, but because I want our world to be a better place. We all share some of your concerns and hope they don’t become a reality.

I was taught to be modest when I’m proven right.

I was taught to apologize when I’m proven wrong.

But overall, I was taught to LOVE. 🫶

New Fire Center for CAL FIRE Firefighter I Hand Crews Opens in Cameron Park

The CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit
(AEU) is pleased to announce the opening of the Ponderosa Fire Center on Palmer Drive in Cameron Park. Formerly the home of Eskaton Cameron Park, the newly renovated center will serve as the home base for seven Firefighter I Hand Crews.
The Ponderosa Fire Center has more than 150 personnel, including firefighters and support staff, in the program. Up to three crews will reside on-site each day, ensuring continuous and efficient responses to emergencies.

“Finding a place that could support our needs and that our crews could call home has been a challenge for us,” said Mike Blankenheim, Unit Chief of the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit. "I’m proud to have been able to work with Eskaton on finding this home for our crews and further establishing our presence in Cameron Park. The opening of the Ponderosa Fire Center marks a significant milestone in wildfire response capabilities for the community and the surrounding areas.”

CAL FIRE Firefighter I Hand Crews are highly trained firefighters who specialize in wildland fire operations and all hazard incident operations. Their primary responsibility while assigned to a wildland fire is constructing handline with chainsaws and hand tools. These crews are also used to defend structures during a fire. While FF I Hand Crews are utilized primarily for wildland fire operations, they can also assist in efforts to contain and mitigate any of California’s major disasters, including floods, earthquakes, heavy snow, and search and rescue operations. When not assigned to a wildland fire or emergency incident, these crews focus on fuel reduction and vegetation management project work in communities.

Looking for a surveyor who will do a commercial parcel survey - would prefer ElDorado County - but at this point open to whatever I can find! Between disconnected phone numbers, no return calls, booked out till April - I am definitely struggling! Much thanks !
