His truck didn't fit in the garage. Her SUV wasn't giving up its spot. Something had to give.

This homeowner in Plainfield had a common problem with a not-so-common solution. Instead of tearing out the garage and starting over, BGW built a covered carport that extends from the existing structure. The truck has a home. The SUV keeps the garage. Problem solved.

But here's the part they didn't expect to love as much as they do. That covered space doubles as outdoor living for family parties. Throw up some string lights, set up the tables, and you've got a covered area that keeps the rain and the sun off your guests without closing anyone in.

One structure. Two problems solved. That's what happens when you think about how a family actually lives instead of just what they asked for.

Your backyard has a problem you haven't named yet.

It's not the grass. It's not the fence. It's not the neighbor's dog. It's that there's no reason to go out there.

No shade. No shelter. No seat that matters. No fire to sit around when the sun goes down. Just a back door that opens to a whole lot of nothing. So you stand there for a second, look around, and go back inside.

Great neighborhood near Zionsville. Great lot. Great bones. But the house was built for a different decade, and the family living in it had outgrown every square foot.

So we gave it a whole new identity.

The master bedroom went from "I hope nobody opens this door" to a full suite with French doors into a spa-style master bath. Double walnut vanity. Floor-to-ceiling tile shower. Hexagon floors. Gold fixtures that catch the light right. The kind of bathroom where you lock the door and pretend you can't hear the kids for a few extra minutes.

Outside, we added an attached garage that looks like it was always part of the plan. New roof. Clean lines. You'd never guess half of what you're looking at didn't exist six months ago.

That's what a whole house remodel actually means. Not picking new paint colors. Rethinking how the house works, then building it that way.

Zero chaos…complete ex*****on.

They had a backyard that most people would kill for.

Mature trees. Privacy. Room to breathe. But from October through April, they never used it. Too cold. Too wet. Life moved inside, and that beautiful space just sat there.

They called us because they wanted a four seasons room addition for their century old home. Something that would let them actually live out there year-round. Morning coffee with the leaves changing. Football Sundays with the fire crackling. A place where the backyard felt like part of the home instead of something they looked at through a window.

We built it right off the back of their Avon home. Tongue-and-groove pine ceiling & ship lap walls. Ceiling fan. Floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides. A space that feels open and warm at the same time.

They told us after it was done: “We’ve had more family time in this room in three months than we had in our living room all last year.”

That’s the whole point.
