On this Memorial Day, we honor the fallen and the courage it took to leap into uncertainty.
A business that began in 1926 and has stood the test of time when Arthur Wasley founded
Plainville Metal Works in Connecticut. What started as a manufacturer of door knockers,
Sconces, and Early American and Colonial lighting fixtures soon evolved into something far
greater.
As global tensions rose in the lead-up to World War II, the company answered the call of
innovation and patriotism. Using good’ole yankee ingenuity, Justin Wasley designed the
parachute ripcord assembly that equipped allied paratroopers throughout WWII and remained
the sole supplier through the mid-1980s. These reliable handles gave soldiers the confidence to
leap into the unknown.
A century later, AceClamp and the Wasley Group of companies continues that same spirit of
