Sometimes a second look is worth it.

The claim had already been filed, and we already had the insurance scope of loss in hand. Before starting the roof tear-off, though, we wanted to take a closer look to make sure nothing had been missed.

Our original adjuster appointment was cut short by rain, so we completed our own perimeter reinspection to double-check everything before the project began.

The good news? We didn’t find any additional storm damage. Based on the way the hail fell, most of the impact came almost straight down, so there was very little damage to the home’s vertical surfaces.

We did uncover one important detail inside the home. The roof has open-cell spray foam insulation applied directly beneath the R-panel roofing. When the roof is replaced, that insulation will need to be reapplied as part of the restoration process.

Every home is different. That’s why we take the time to inspect every detail—not to find damage that isn’t there, but to make sure nothing important gets overlooked before the work begins.

We’ve worked with the owner on a few of his other properties, but this is the first time he’s asked us to look at this home. Insurance had already completed an initial inspection before we got involved. Now we’re taking a closer look to see if there’s enough damage to move forward with the reinspection process.

FYI: The old synthetic underlayment was laid down before we were called. Our crews replaced it with OC ProArmor. The underlayment shown in the video is the old synthetic, not the new material.
