☀️ North Texas Gate Owners—Don’t Forget to Water Your Gate Posts!
The extreme heat and dry conditions across North Texas are causing the ground to shrink, crack, and shift. When the soil moves, your gate posts can move with it.
Even a small amount of movement can cause your gate to:
• Sag or drag against the ground
• Become difficult to open or close
• Stop lining up with the latch
• Put unnecessary strain on the hinges and gate operator
Help protect your gate by periodically watering the soil around the posts and concrete footings. A slow, deep watering with a hose or soaker hose is best—you want to maintain consistent soil moisture without flooding the area.
A few minutes of prevention can help avoid an expensive alignment or operator repair later.
