We get it. When summer hits Nebraska, it's tempting to cut the grass extra short so you can mow less often. But that's actually one of the fastest ways to invite crabgrass to the party.
A healthy lawn needs a little height to shade the soil and help hold in moisture. When you cut it too short, the sun bakes the ground, the grass gets stressed, and those pesky crabgrass seeds suddenly have the perfect place to move in.
