From demo day to a fully compliant, beautiful new space—this garage conversion was an absolute transformation! 🔨✨
Over the course of three months, we took this structure down to the studs, poured new foundation support, framed it out, and completely built it back up into a modern, functional ADU.
But the real highlight of this project isn’t just what you see on the surface; it’s how we prepared it for the future. Our client has plans to eventually transition this space into a care home. With that vision in mind, we made sure everything was fully up to California Code, including California Building Code (Title 24, Part 2) requirements for aging-in-place readiness. We integrated structural backing throughout the walls for future grab bars and safety features, ensuring that when the time comes, the transition will be incredibly easy and seamless.
