From demo day to a fully compliant, beautiful new space—this garage conversion was an absolute transformation! 🔨✨
Over the course of three months, we took this structure down to the studs, poured new foundation support, framed it out, and completely built it back up into a modern, functional ADU.
But the real highlight of this project isn’t just what you see on the surface; it’s how we prepared it for the future. Our client has plans to eventually transition this space into a care home. With that vision in mind, we made sure everything was fully up to California Code, including California Building Code (Title 24, Part 2) requirements for aging-in-place readiness. We integrated structural backing throughout the walls for future grab bars and safety features, ensuring that when the time comes, the transition will be incredibly easy and seamless.

From 100-year-old hidden history to a completely modernized 4-bedroom home! 🛠️✨
We recently wrapped up this full investment property remodel for our client in San Jose, and it was an incredible journey from start to finish. Opening up these century-old walls felt like a historical event—we even found some vintage Coca-Cola bottles hidden inside from the original builders back in the early 1900s! 🍾📜
For this transformation, we didn’t just scratch the surface. We took it down to the studs, removed a chimney, relocated the kitchen, and reconfigured the bedroom layouts to expand this home from a 3-bedroom to a fully legalized 4-bedroom. We handled the entire city permitting process from start to finish to ensure everything was 100% compliant. On top of the structural work, we completely upgraded the infrastructure with a full sewer re-pipe throughout the house and basement, and installed a brand-new sewer ejection pump.
The best part? We knocked out all of this intensive work in just 3 months, flew through every city inspection with flying colors, and handed over the keys to a very happy client

Our latest project in Pleasant Hill is a prime example of how precision structural engineering can completely transform the "feel” of a living space 🏡

Project Highlights:

-We engineered and framed new, expansive openings to replace dated, standard-sized units.

-Swapped a standard 8' slider for a massive 10' aluminum sliding door system, creating a grand transition to the patio.

-Replaced a small living room window with a large-span picture window to frame the backyard view.

-Installed a custom 36" x 48" Velux skylight and light-well, successfully bringing "outside" light into the heart of the home.

-All work was completed to strict California seismic standards, including shear wall reinforcements.

At KCK Construction and Remodeling, we don't just assemble we build. For this Danville renovation, our team took on the challenge of fabricating a custom metal-framed exterior kitchen from scratch to ensure a perfect fit and lifelong durability.

Project Highlights:

Custom Metal Fabrication: A high-performance outdoor kitchen built to spec.

The "Butterfly House": Dedicated greenhouse designed specifically for our client’s passion for raising butterflies.
