THOUGHT FERAL - TOOK TO HUMANE SOCIETY IN JULY WHEN SHOWED UP WITH SLURPEE LID ON NECK AND DISCOVERED ALREADY SPAYED. HUMANE SOCIETY CLIPPED HER EAR AND FINDER HAS RERELEASED WHERE FOUND. CAT HAS NO INTEREST IN PEOPLE, BUT FINDER IS ATTACHED AND WILL CONTINUE TO CARE FOR OUTSIDE AND PROVIDE OUTDOOR SHELTER IF NO OWNER IS FOUND.

Get ready to follow the "green" brick road!

If you have visited the Zoo recently, you might have noticed construction is well underway at the Arctic Ring of Life.

The DZS is currently replacing the pathway due to cracks and trip hazards caused by the age of the poured-in-place concrete. While the replacement is necessary, the DZS took this as an opportunity to upgrade the pathway in a way that exemplifies its mission of healing nature. The new clay permeable paver system will allow stormwater to flow through the joints into the ground below, which keeps stormwater from running off into the sewer and replenishes the groundwater supply. This results in a cleaner watershed!

Thank you for being patient while this important work is being done. The final product will be worth the wait!
