Okay, friends. I need your attention because something is happening in Pontiac that deserves WAY more attention than it’s getting.
Oakland HOPE needs $3 MILLION. And before you scroll past that number, let me tell you why you should care.
This incredible organization serves approximately 16,000 people EVERY MONTH. More than 4,500 of them are CHILDREN.
In 2025 alone, they distributed more than 2.1 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD.
These are our neighbors. Working families struggling to make ends meet. Seniors on fixed incomes. Parents wondering how they’re going to feed their kids.
And Oakland HOPE shows up for them.
But here’s what you need to know.
They’re carrying a $1.8 MILLION mortgage. Their building needs maintenance. Their operating hours need to be restored. And they’re launching a $3 million campaign to make sure this organization can continue feeding our community for years to come.
Imagine what they could do if they weren’t carrying that mortgage.
And here’s what I LOVE about their operation. They run a massive thrift store where donated furniture, clothing, and household goods help fund their mission.
Your unwanted couch can help put food on somebody else’s table.
Through my estate sale business, I’ve had the privilege of working directly with Pastor Jim and its founder, Norma. I’ve watched their team show up, load trucks, and do the hard work that most people never see.
They’re not talking about making a difference. They’re DOING IT.
Now they need community help. Which sometimes begins with awareness of their mission and sharing why it matters and prayers for God to put them upon the hearts of those with pockets deep enough to do some legacy work…
And I know some of you have more influence than you realize ♥️
Shop their thrift store. Donate your furniture. Make a contribution. Share this post. Get their name in front of somebody who can help.
Because a community food pantry shouldn’t have to choose between paying a mortgage, watching its building deteriorate or feeding its neighbors. We can do better!
Oakland HOPE is doing its part.
Let’s do ours. ❤️
