● Our Exterior Painting Process ●

The (8) Essential Steps to the perfect Exterior paint job:

Investing in a quality exterior paint job can mean the difference between painting every few years or a paint job that could last as long as A DOZEN years. YES, even in New England.

☆ Step-1 ☆

We start by evaluating ALL surfaces of the house to identify any problem areas like mildew, peeling, checking, and moisture. A lengthy, detailed evaluation is presented to you.

☆ Step-2 ☆

ALL areas around the home, including vegitation such as shrubs, landscaping, etc., will be protected from start to finish by drop cloths or plastic. Windows, brick and light fixtures will be masked off to prevent paint from damaging these areas. We will cover all grounds roofs, walkways, and all non-painted surfaces.

☆ Step-3 ☆

APS has a team of professional, detail orientated, meticulous carpenters. They will replace or repair any rotten or damaged wood using a composite material that will never rot again.

☆ Step 4 ☆

We POWER SAND with multiple grits of sandpaper. We start with 16 grit on a grinder (this will remove ALL existing peeling paint). We then use 60/80 grit to feather it in. This essentially levels off the high points. Then we finish the process off with 120/150 grit to smoothen it out. Yes, it looks like a kitchen wall.

☆ Step-5 ☆

We will use a 55 year acrylic caulking to fill and seal ALL gaps on ALL surfaces to assure that no water or moisture will pe*****te the surface and cause premature peeling AND ROT.

☆ Step-6 ☆

We will wash ALL surfaces of your home to remove any dirt or other debris. We will also apply a bleach/soap solution to kill any mildew that exists on the structure.

☆ Step-7 ☆

ALL areas identified as in need of Primer (bare wood, dry surfaces, cedar bleed, stains) will be primed with an oil-based primer to allow for proper paint adhesion.
