Pictures don’t always do a project justice, and this barn is the perfect example. When we arrived, it was literally being held together by hopes and dreams — not a single structural member was still supporting it from the ground. The entire rear section had rotted away and dropped nearly twelve inches.
We temporarily shored up the building, jacked the roof back to level, poured all-new concrete footers with sturdy wall wet-set brackets, and built a completely new wall system using pressure-treated lumber. From there, the barn was finished with fully dimensional roof boards, fresh board-and-batten siding, French doors, and new windows. A new floor will be poured at a later date, and we can’t wait to see what this barn becomes next.

BUSINESS, SCHEDULED, AND LIFE UPDATE
This month has been crazy — both in business and in life. At the beginning of the month, we welcomed the third generation of Baldwin Farm: a happy and healthy baby girl, Lenore.
For the “crazy” part, Friday morning I was seriously injured at home while working with one of our horses. My injuries are significant but, as of now, not life‑threatening. Recovery will take some time. My dad Bob and Gary are still out working and grinding away, but these two events will definitely affect our schedule moving forward.
I will be reaching out personally if you are on the schedule for the next few weeks with an update. For projects further out, I’ll provide updates as we get closer. Hopefully the interruption will be minimal, but please prepare for a 1–2 week delay.
I apologize for any inconvenience. We are still taking on jobs, so feel free to reach out and we can get you on the schedule for the fall.

Just because your barn is old and the foundation has failed doesn’t mean it’s a total loss.

This is a 24x36’ roughly 75 year old barn that was falling over and unsafe. The entire foundation and most all of the structural wall framing had failed and a collapse was inevitable. We were able to support, level, cut the entire exterior wall away, pour all new concrete footers, and reframe the structural walls. Stay tuned, we’re gonna strip the other side and do the same thing then re side and finished it up nice.

This past week we finished up this nice 10x14’ she shed down in Falmouth. Four windows, custom vine arbor, Herron blue metal roof, Dutch door, and built with timber framing and solid wood siding. Last week we finished up this nice 8x8’ modular mini horse Shedrow with a self supporting overhang out in Auburndale Ma. We also started a 10x20’ storage shed on the same property. Being a more urban area the city limits barn sizes so the detached shed was the only way we were able to get them storage for there barn wile meeting setbacks and city ordinances. This past week we worked on a quick custom “he shed”. A one car garage style shed, in this case a tractor shed. It is 12x16’ with a 4’ overhang, has a 9x8’ roll up garage door, extra heavy duty subfloor and framing, a heavy duty ramp, and a 5’ side access door. Reach out with your projects!
