I've called it "goofy". My wife used the word "cute". Riding it is just plain fun. It's a modified mountain bike that I intended for gravel/commuting.
While some of my decisions were focused on aesthetics, not necessarily performance, I really find this to be a great ride.

Eagle Bicycle: it was a little place in part of a building my dad owned in Rexburg. I must have been six years old. I remember awe, "This is what you do for work?! This is how you live?!" Bikes have not lost their lustre. From hand-me-down rides to my first "big" Walmart purchase to the used mountain bikes to my newer rides--looking at, riding, and working on bikes brings me joy.

I've got a number of projects in line today! First thing is to get my personal ride and these frames cleaned up. 2016 Niner Jet 9 is a real pleasure to ride, the dropper post is about the only upgrade it's received. 1990's Specialized Rockhopper Sport is getting a few tweaks to make it a commuter. 1940's Schwinn Majestic has been ridden by many over the years. It was my aunt's. I'm working on a restoration. It's in amazing condition for it's age and the use it's seen.

The trouble with having worked in custom woodworking shops for quite a few years is that I get busy with personal projects. I tend to believe I know what I'm doing and will get a better finished product than if I hire it. Maybe it's true, but it takes away from my passion for bike mechanics. Despite my deviation into finishing our storage room, complete with tapes sheetrock, paint, shelves, and flooring I've made some time for the bike shop area. Here's hoping to wrap up on the storage room today and get some focus back on bikes.
