The Gambler Deep Sea Fishing Boat

The Gambler Deep Sea Fishing Boat Join us aboard the Gambler for open boat fishing all year long! The Gambler was custom built in 2005 by Maine craftsmen.
(442)

She is extra heavy construction, built for high speeds and high seas. The Gambler is powered by 4 Detroit/MTU engines. With a total of 3000 horses powering 4 props, she is capable of speeds of up to 30 knots! Our vessel also features the newest, most advanced electronics with over $50,000 worth of fish finding equipment. Night fishing is illuminated on the Gambler with high intensity flood and dec

k lighting - and she's the only boat to feature under water lights built into the hull! You can find hot and cold food and beverages at the galley in our heated/air conditioned lounge. The Gambler is the widest boat in her class, providing extra stability and deck room for your comfort. She also boasts huge built-in fish holds for our offshore big game trips. Our business has been family owned and operated since 1949. The Gambler's friendly, experienced Captains and crew are happy to assist both beginners and experts. We welcome and encourage families and children to join us on our fishing excursions for the adventure of a life time! Our customers saftey, satisfaction, boat cleanliness - and of course, catching fish - are our main priorities!

The Gambler has been seeing some encouraging fluke fishing lately, with a handful of quality keepers pushing the 4-pound mark and better. While the action hasnโ€™t been red-hot every trip, the fluke are definitely around and showing up more consistently as we move further into the season.

Sea bass have been scarce on our drifts lately, but anglers targeting fluke have been seeing steady action from shorts mixed with keeper-sized fish.

One of our recent anglers, Susie B. of Brick, joined us on Sunday afternoon and stayed busy with plenty of short fluke action while putting a couple of keepers in the cooler.

An interesting trend weโ€™ve noticed is that our rental rods fishing traditional bait rigs have often been outfishing the Gulp jiggers. With water temperatures still running on the cool side, the fluke seem a little sluggish and appear to be responding better to slower-moving natural baits. Thatโ€™s something worth keeping in mind when planning your next trip.

Weโ€™re starting to see some encouraging signs on the fluke grounds as the summer season gets underway. Over the last few trips, anglers have enjoyed plenty of action, with a good mix of shorts keeping rods bent and a nice percentage of keeper fluke coming over the rails.

Prior to Thursdayโ€™s strong southerly blow, the fluke bite had been steadily improving. We did not sail Thursday due to rough seas, and when we returned Friday morning, we found water temperatures had dropped sharply โ€” not unexpected after the weather we experienced.

We pushed a little farther offshore and managed to pick away at throwbacks, along with a handful of keeper fluke and a couple of big ling. We were hoping to see more sea bass mixed into our drifts, but they were scarce in the areas we worked.

With steady westerly winds in the forecast, weโ€™re optimistic ocean temperatures will rebound quickly and the fluke bite will continue to improve.

๐ŸŒ™ Night Wrecking Update ๐ŸŒ™

Our Night Wreckinโ€™ trips continue to produce a steady pick of bigger ling in deeper water. Anglers targeting squid have also been finding success with squid jigs, while sea bass action remains slower than usual for this time of year.

๐ŸŽฃ Half-Day Fluke Report ๐ŸŽฃ

Gambler kicked off our half-day schedule this past week, and the fluke fishing continues to improve with every trip.

Weโ€™re fishing areas where the sea bass should be, too, but sea bass have been scarce lately.

The good news? The fluking is getting better each day. Sundayโ€™s pool winner was a beautiful 5-pound fluke ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Captain Jeff, ran the Gambler yesterday morning, and heโ€™s reporting a noticeable improvement in both short action and keepers.

Weโ€™re excited to see what the rest of the week brings โ€” come get in on the action!

๐ŸŽฃ Gambler Weekly Fishing Update ๐ŸŽฃ

Gambler has been working the sea bass and ling grounds over the past several days. Some days have been better than others, but weโ€™ve continued to put together a steady catch and keep anglers busy at the rail.

Sea bass have been taking both clam baits and jigs, especially with the abundance of small sand eels in the area. Weโ€™ve been covering a lot of ground, fishing everything from inshore wrecks and rocky bottom to pieces 15โ€“20 miles offshore, depending on conditions, what weโ€™ve seen the previous day, and reports from around the fleet.

There has also been a nice variety of fish mixed in, including flounder, porgies, mackerel, po***ck, and even some bluefish. Plenty of action to keep things interesting and coolers filling.

Our night trips this past weekend produced mostly ling and squid, along with a few sea bass. These trips continue every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night from 7:30 PM to 12:30 AM and are a great way to spend an evening on the water.

โ˜€๏ธ Beautiful weather is in the forecast this week, and we have plenty of room available for walk-ons.

๐ŸŽฃ Friday, June 12 will be our final 10-Hour Sea Bass & Wreck Trip of the season. If youโ€™ve been meaning to get in on one of these longer trips, now is your last chance!

๐ŸŒŠ Summer Half-Day Schedule Begins This Weekend! ๐ŸŒŠ

These trips are perfect for families, beginners, and anglers looking to get out on the water without committing to a full day.
