Saltwater and steel don’t always mix! That’s why at APH Marine Construction, we use MST Fiberglass Rebar (GFRP) in our hybrid seawall systems.

Unlike traditional steel rebar, MST fiberglass rebar is non-corrosive, lightweight, and incredibly strong. It won’t rust when exposed to saltwater, preventing concrete cracking, spalling, and costly structural deterioration over time.

Rust like this is more than an eyesore. It’s a warning sign.

This oceanfront seawall is one of our newest projects, and the severe corrosion you’re seeing is a great indicator that it’s time for replacement. Years of saltwater exposure can deteriorate steel reinforcement, compromise the structure, and eventually lead to catastrophic failure.

The goal is to replace it before it gets to that point.
If your seawall is showing heavy rust, cracking, exposed reinforcement, or other signs of deterioration, now is the time to have it evaluated.

This is almost high tide during a King Tide, and our seawall is still sitting well above the waterline.

Now add a boat wake. The neighboring seawalls could easily see water coming over the top, while this new wall still has valuable elevation between the water and the property.

This is why proper seawall elevation matters in South Florida. We build for the conditions your waterfront faces today and the conditions it will face tomorrow.
