Building the next generation of electricians takes both jobsite experience and room in the classroom.

A recent government affairs update highlighted electrical training directors asking Texas lawmakers to restore apprenticeship funding, with enrollment growing faster than classroom capacity.

It’s a reminder that supporting the trades means investing in the instructors, training spaces, and hands-on learning that help apprentices succeed.

The people who will power our future need opportunities to learn today.

Well, HELLO PROGRESS! 👏⚡

Two photos from June and one from today—and so much hard work in between! We’re really proud of this Avid team.

The coolest part? Our project manager shared that most of the guys on site were brand new to the electrical trade when they started. They’ve gained hands-on experience, built their skills, and grown alongside this project—with plenty more ahead!

Building from the ground up and developing some incredible tradesmen along the way. That’s progress worth celebrating!

Tuesday Thoughts: What happens when the work in the field doesn’t match the original plans? ⚡

Construction projects often require adjustments along the way. Conduit may need to be rerouted, equipment can be relocated, or circuits may be added as the project develops.

Those changes are recorded as redlines during construction and then incorporated into the final as-built drawings.

Accurate as-builts give the building owner a dependable record of what was actually installed—not simply what was originally designed. That information becomes especially valuable when the facility needs maintenance, repairs or future expansion.

It may look like someone is just marking up a set of plans, but this documentation is an important part of delivering a complete project and taking care of the customer long after construction ends.

At Avid, attention to detail doesn’t stop when the installation is complete.
