Today, I am proud to announce my intention to run for Mississippi House of Representatives, District 106.
As a lifelong resident of Pearl River County, I have been blessed to spend my life serving others—whether in uniform, in business, or in my community.
I was raised on conservative Christian values that continue to guide every aspect of my life. My family faced difficult times when I was growing up, and we often relied on programs like Social Security and food assistance to make ends meet. Those experiences taught me the importance of hard work, personal responsibility, gratitude, and never forgetting where you came from.
After graduating high school, I answered the call to serve our nation by joining the military. My military service took me into combat, and later I had the privilege of serving as an Army recruiter, helping young men and women pursue opportunities and build better futures for themselves and their families.
Following my military service, my wife and I built a healthcare business dedicated to caring for people during some of life’s most difficult moments. Providing hospice care to families throughout Pearl River and Lamar Counties was more than a profession—it was a calling and an honor.
Over the years, I have also built successful residential and commercial contracting businesses, creating jobs, employing other contractors and gaining firsthand experience with the challenges facing small businesses, workers, and families throughout our district.
While I am proud of those accomplishments, I am most proud of my family. My wife and I have been married for 19 years and are blessed with four wonderful children. They remind me every day why strong families, strong communities, and strong values matter.
Through my experiences in military service, healthcare, business, and community leadership, I have gained a deep understanding of the issues that affect the people of District 106. I believe our communities deserve a representative who understands the challenges facing working families, seniors, veterans, healthcare providers, small businesses, and taxpayers because I have lived many of those same experiences.
I am not running because I want to be a politician. I am running because I love this community and believe it is time to give back through public service once again. For nearly 30 years, I have had the privilege of serving the people of this area in one capacity or another, and if I am being honest, the call to serve has never left me.
It would be the honor of a lifetime to serve the people of Pearl River and Lamar Counties as your next State Representative.
I humbly ask for your prayers, your support, and your vote.
I also want to wish Jansen Owen the very best as he pursues the office of District Attorney. Janson has served our community well, and I appreciate his dedication to Pearl River County. I look forward to seeing him continue to make a positive impact in this new endeavor.
