❄️ IS YOUR HOME READY FOR THE SNOW? ❄️

⏰ The snow is coming—don’t wait until the lights flicker to start thinking about safety! Heavy snow can put your electrical system to the ultimate test.

💡 When the snow starts piling up, the last thing you want to deal with is a flickering light or a tripped breaker. Is your home ready for the snow?

Use our Essential Winter Storm Checklist to keep your family warm, powered up and protected:

🕒 Before the Storm Hits:

📝 Test Your Backup Power: If you have a generator, run a test cycle now. Ensure you have enough fresh fuel stored in a safe, ventilated area. Don’t have a generator? We can help with that! We have many manual interlock kits in stock as well for your portable generator.

🔋 🪫 Charge Everything: Power up your phones, tablets, and external battery packs.

🎚️Locate Your Panel: Make sure the path to your breaker panel is clear. You don't want to be tripping over boxes in the dark.

🔌 Unplug Sensitive Electronics: Use surge protectors for TVs and computers.

🔥 Space Heater Safety: Keep heaters at least **3 feet** away from curtains, bedding, and furniture. Never plug them into an extension cord—plug them directly into the wall.

🔌 Avoid "Daisy Chaining": Do not plug power strips into other power strips. This is a major fire hazard when heating appliances are in use.

🔦 Flashlights Over Candles: Avoid using candles for light to prevent accidental fires. Keep LED lanterns in common rooms.

⚠️ Emergency Protocol

👷‍♂️Downed Power Lines: Always assume a downed wire is live. Stay at least **35 feet** away and call emergency services immediately.

⚡️ The "One Hand" Rule: If you must reset a breaker, stand to the side and use one hand. Ensure the floor beneath you is dry.

❄️ Pro Tip:If your power goes out, keep the fridge and freezer doors closed! A full freezer can keep food frozen for about 48 hours if left unopened.
