When people hear backflow upgrade, they picture swapping one metal thing for a slightly newer metal thing. It changes more than that.

A current assembly is built to be serviced. When a seal wears, there is a rebuild kit for it rather than a replace-the-whole-unit conversation.

Test ports are positioned so the device can actually be checked properly instead of guessed at.

And internal materials hold up better against the mineral content in the water moving through them here every cycle.
