We've successfully completed this gorgeous porch for a very pleased customer, having removed the old porch due to significant rot underneath that made it hazardous. The final product exceeded our expectations. And once the wood ages to a proper time we will be back to paint it in their preferred color or stain! A customer contacted us regarding a fence issue, where a section was severely rotted and unstable. Upon inspection, we discovered that most of the post were rotted completely and that there were three fences worth of footings. We removed the old fence and post, and had to excavate the footings of all three previous fences, my son helped dig out the old footings and dig the new post holes he did such a great job!🖤😊 we then installed new fence and allowed a month for the treated wood to dry and acclimate before painting it to match the original color. Then added some dirt in low spots and put fresh grass seed down to make sure their lawn was healthy and with out dirt spots. The customer expressed great satisfaction with the results. The customer informed us about a pinhole leak in their solder connection, probably resulting from improper flux application that had managed to hold up for a long time but eventually gave way. We attended to the issue promptly, shutting off the water, separating the pipe, sanding both fittings until they were smooth and shiny, and applying the correct amount of flux to ensure a successful repair. A customer reported a flooded crawlspace, prompting our team to visit the premises. We found a substantial amount of water, roughly 8 inches deep. After deploying our sump pump overnight, we successfully reduced the water level, enabling an inspection that revealed a split meter. Our plan is to rectify the pipe damage and fit the crawlspace with a high-capacity sump pump to mitigate the risk of recurrence. One of our valued customers recently experienced considerable roof damage on their 3 year old roof, with shingles coming loose and exposing their home to further risk. Unfortunately, the insurance company's delayed response has coincided with recent heavy rainfall, increasing the likelihood of additional damage. We intervened to mitigate this risk by working with the insurance company to install a temporary protective covering, comprising a wooden frame and heavy-duty plastic sheeting, to protect the underlying drywall. The initial attempt using sandbags proved ineffective when winds surpassed 20 mph, and after some debate about securing the plastic sheeting without screws, we were able to convince the insurance company to allow us to secure it with screws via email approval. A bit about ourselves, James and I started this venture August of last year. With James being the older brother, he has helped teach me "Corey" how to successfully achieve finishing these jobs with the proper form and ex*****on. As being the younger brother, i try to consistently learn new skills to share. We grew up with a father "Jay Hillman" who would pride himself on being sure his sons knew carpentry skills, the use of power tools, and how to navigate a speed square to ensure our cuts are always on point. Throughout the years, James and I graduated to mechanics! Learning to turn a wrench and break bolts free. These are all valued skills we hold dear to our hearts due to losing him back in 2015. Every nail hammered down is with passion, every screw sunk in with precision, every measurement with diligence and confidence. Running this business is a way for us to honor him with 100% admiration for the man that he was, and to remind ourselves of how to be the men he always wanted us to be. We serve you with principle and integrity. It would be awesome to make it huge one of these days! But until then, we are just grateful to help serve ones who are unable to help themselves.
