The best part of Thanksgiving isn't what's on the table. It's who's sitting around it.

There's something special about this time of year. The smell of Thanksgiving dinner cooking, the sound of family filling the house, kids running around, someone sneaking a taste before dinner, and everyone gathering around the table to make another year's worth of memories.

As we start getting our homes ready for the holidays, we wanted to share a few little reminders to help everything go smoothly.

🍂 Keep the turkey grease out of the sink. We know cleanup isn't anyone's favorite part of Thanksgiving! Let cooking grease cool and dispose of it in the trash instead of pouring it down the drain.

🍂 Give your garbage disposal a little break. Scrape plates into the trash, especially potato peels, large food scraps, and anything greasy. Your kitchen sink will thank you!

🍂 Check the guest bathroom before everyone arrives. Make sure the toilet flushes properly, faucets aren't dripping, and drains are flowing freely. And remember, even wipes labeled "flushable" belong in the trash.

🍂 Know where your main water shutoff valve is. It's one of those little things every homeowner should know, just in case.

But most importantly, don't get so caught up in preparing the perfect holiday that you forget to enjoy the people you're preparing it for. ❤️

The dishes can wait. The house doesn't have to be perfect. And sometimes the best memories are made when things don't go exactly as planned.

From all of us at Integrity Plumbing and More, we're grateful to be part of this wonderful community.

Happy Thanksgiving season to our friends and neighbors throughout Port Orange, Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, and Volusia County!

Shower spray becoming uneven? Check the care instructions before reaching for a strong cleaner.

Debris or mineral buildup can affect spray openings. The right cleaning method depends on the showerhead, body sprays, and finish.

Find the manufacturer’s guidance for the exact model. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh products that the instructions don’t approve. A cleaning method suitable for one finish may damage another.

If the spray stays weak after appropriate cleaning—or water keeps dripping when the shower is off—have the problem assessed.

A quiet toilet can still waste water.

Before fall guests arrive, give your guest bathroom a simple leak check:

• Add a few drops of food coloring to the toilet tank.
• Wait 10 minutes without flushing.
• Check the bowl. If color appears, water is leaking from the tank into the bowl.
• Flush afterward to help prevent staining.

A worn flapper or seal may be involved, but the right repair depends on the toilet’s design. A positive dye test doesn’t automatically mean you need a new toilet.

A drip at the garden hose connection and a dripping outdoor faucet can need different repairs.

If water escapes where the hose attaches while the hose is running, a worn or missing hose washer may be involved.

For your next fall yard check, turn off the faucet, release pressure through the hose nozzle, and disconnect the hose. Look for water continuing to drip from the faucet itself.

That observation helps separate a hose-connection problem from a faucet that isn’t shutting off properly. Note whether the water appears at the outlet, handle, or wall connection.

Integrity Plumbing & More can help with persistent outdoor faucet leaks in Volusia County.

Planning a soaking tub this fall? Include hot-water capacity in the conversation.

The tub’s dimensions are only part of the plan. Your water heater also needs to support how your household uses hot water—especially when baths, showers, and other uses overlap.

For a storage water heater, ask about its first-hour rating: how much hot water it can deliver during the first hour, starting with a fully heated tank. Tank size alone doesn’t tell the whole story.

Bring the tub’s specifications and your busiest-hour routine to the planning discussion, including visiting guests.

Integrity Plumbing & More can help review bathroom plumbing and water heater needs in Port Orange.

DID YOU KNOW? Americans grew 1.47 BILLION pounds of pumpkins last year!**

That's a lot of pumpkins. And here in Florida, we're just trying to get ours to survive until Halloween.

Between the heat, humidity, and afternoon sunshine, a freshly carved jack-o'-lantern doesn't always stand much of a chance.

Here's a little Florida Halloween tip: If you're carving pumpkins this year, wait until closer to the 31st and find a shady spot for your masterpiece. A battery-operated candle helps, too.

And if you're one of those people who can turn a pumpkin into a work of art, we want to know your secret!

Are you keeping it classic with the triangle eyes and crooked grin, or going all out with something fancy this year?

Happy Halloween from all of us at Integrity Plumbing & More!

Before you put fresh towels in the guest bathroom, check the toilet.

If you’re expecting family at your Volusia County home this fall, this is a useful check to do before they arrive. A toilet can leak from its tank into the bowl without leaving a puddle on the floor.

Try the EPA’s simple dye test:

1. Add a few drops of food coloring to the toilet tank.
2. Wait 10 minutes without flushing.
3. If color appears in the bowl, there’s a leak.

Flush afterward to help prevent staining.

While you’re there, run the sink and look underneath for drips, damp spots, or water around the pipe connections.

A visible split in a drainpipe deserves a closer look.

This photo shows a crack in cast-iron piping. Clearing a blockage cannot restore a split pipe wall; the damaged section needs a repair assessment.

For recurring drain problems, useful questions include:

• Where is the damage?
• How much of the piping has been inspected?
• What evidence supports the proposed repair?

A camera inspection can help document conditions inside accessible drain and sewer piping. The recommended scope should follow the findings, rather than an assumption that every pipe needs replacement.

Integrity Plumbing & More can assess drain and repiping concerns in Volusia County.

New Construction
Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach

Good plumbing planning starts before the finished surfaces go in.

If a new home is on your fall project list, discuss three things early with your builder and plumber:

• Fixture locations and any planned layout changes.
• How the water heater and piping will support your household’s hot-water needs.
• When required inspections will happen, before the work is covered.

Keep copies of permit and inspection approvals with your project records. They document the process and give you a useful reference later.
