We were able to quickly jump on a rotten deck job for a customer and help replace their second story deck and roof gable supports. After our engineer approved our solution (2 days), we were able to have materials dropped on site and get to work. We had to lift the existing structure 1/4” to bring it back to level then build a temp wall to support the structure on the first level. Once we had the deck supported, we did the same thing above to make sure the cover gable and posts were supported so we could remove all the non-treated lumber that was failing.
Once we had the front opened up, it was like building a new deck and we got it done quickly and correctly. Using all PT #1 DF and brackets and fasteners, we brought this deck back up to code and much safer for the customers to enjoy.
Lastly, we’ll be building some custom glass railings to open up their view of the lake and ensuring their system meets code and looks exquisite. Stay tuned.
