Beautiful weather for pipe work! Once the ground dried up and the rain slacked off we managed to install more 12in ductile for a new development in Grottoes. Once we wrap this one up we will be on to the next job.

Attention!!
We are selling one of our service trucks. It is a 2007 Chevy Silverado 3500 Duramax with 412k miles. Truck has an aluminum service bed on it with an amber safety light, power inverter, CB radio, work lights and tool box lights. It is also a 4x4 with 35in tires and newer style GMC wheels. Although the weather was crazy this week, we managed to knock out some 12in ductile iron water main installation and repair an emergency leak for a citizen in Grottoes. Looking forward to the projects we have coming up this summer and sharing them with everyone.

Virginia's official spring fire season may have ended on April 30, but the ongoing drought and current weather conditions are keeping wildfire risk elevated.🔥📈 The U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) reports increased fire danger across most of Virginia today, May 5, due to low humidity and gusty winds. Postpone outdoor burning and use extra caution with all potential ignition sources.

The tank is finally in! After two weeks of work the tank is installed at the McDonald’s in Grottoes and in operating condition. This 10,000 gallon septic tank was definitely the largest tank we have installed to date and it definitely came with some challenges.

The tank came in three pieces with the base being the heaviest at 36,000lbs!

The amount of stone used to backfill the large hole with all the benching is impressive in of itself. Backfilling the hole took an estimated 3 days between the tight working conditions, depth of tank and us having to compact every 6 inches.

Along with the tank we installed a doghouse manhole on the adjacent sewer main for the tank to drain in to.

Here at Excalibur Excavation we always appreciate the work and we especially appreciate the opportunity to work on unique and large projects such as this one.

If anyone has drove by the McDonald’s in Grottoes and wonder what the big hole is in the parking lot, you can thank us for that. We were contracted to install the septic tank!

Over 40 truck loads of material were hauled off to ensure the hole was big enough and to bench the sides for safety. This is the excavated hole with the base stone compacted and raked out to grade.

Shout out to Jason Parham and McClung-Logan Equipment Company for bringing this Volvo ECR235 for us to demo. It was perfect for this job with the long reach and reduced tail swing. This machine was definitely a hit with all of our employees! Stay tuned for when the tank gets installed next week!

I have a Energreen Robomower that we are going to sell. We added it to our land clearing division to tackle small jobs and steep hillsides.

It’s a 2014 model with a 40hp Isuzu diesel and runs excellent with only 108 original hours on it and has a 130cm (51in) flail head on it.

Comes with two sets of tracks. The set currently on it is rated for up to 30 degree slopes while the spiked tracks can handle up to 55 degree slopes.

I also have an extra flail mower rotor assembly.

These mowers are like ventracs they can run multiple attachments such as forestry mulchers, buckets, brooms, blades and the current ones produced by the manufacturer will work on the old models as well.

We just wrapped up an 8in on 8in tie in located in Timberville, Va for a new litter shed construction. Shout out to Alger's Excavation Inc. for doing the wet tap for us. I can honestly say that we were happy with the way the fittings and restraints look. Often times these are buried in the ground and people do not get to see our work.
