Here’s a sneak peek at our kitchen remodel that is nearly complete, just waiting on new chairs, stools, and a dining room pendant to tie the space together.
Raising a family is part organization and part time management, at least those were our observations when approaching the kitchen design for this Cedar Mills residence. One of the most important goals was providing additional storage while maintaining flow and function of the space.
With so much centering around the kitchen these days that means overlapping programs from different members of the household. The kitchen can be a sanctuary for some, a place for studying and doing homework, or a gathering space when hosting parties - (everyone always gravitates to the kitchen island!). The kitchen is the heart of the home that greets you in the morning, and should inspire you with a beautiful design throughout the day.
The design included a larger pass through window from the kitchen to the exterior patio complete with an exterior bar counter. All new walnut casework throughout, new counters, lighting, and accent tile work behind the sink. Our favorite feature is the new coffee station and drink bar that turned a morning routine into an experience. With the help of a digital family calendar, it turned this wall into an organized eye catching moment.
With the few remaining items needed for completion, this kitchen remodel completely transformed the space into an open, airy and sophisticated experience. The best part was seeing empty cupboards, a good sign that the extra storage goal was met.
We can’t wait to start the primary bath remodel next!
