Compensation: $2,500 per production. Additional $500 compensation per production if the TD also takes on the drafting of scenic plans and elevations.

The Technical Director (TD) is responsible for establishing scenic and technical build plans, budgets, and managing the construction, load-in, and strike of the scenic elements of productions. Additionally, they collaborate with the rest of the production staff to execute the scenic vision of each production. Note: Stumptown has a head carpenter and scenic charge artist, and while the Technical Director may be needed to assist, they are not the primary party responsible for executing set construction or painting.

Stumptown Stages is accepting applications and scheduling interviews for Technical Directors, Lighting Designers, Assistant Directors, Stage Crew and Volunteers in our 23/24 Season of ​KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMAN, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, HAIRSPRAY, and TOOTSIE, show dates below. Build and prep in our shop in Milwaukie. All performances at the Winningstad Theatre, Portland'5​.

Open Positions
- Technical Directors - Plan, lead, and supervise construction in our Milwaukie shop, and load-in and strike of sets in the Winningstad Theater for all productions. Stipend of $3,000 per production. Design and drafting provided.
- Lighting Designers - Design, plan, hang, and program lighting for IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, HAIRSPRAY, and TOOTSIE. Attends move-in, technical rehearsals, and strike. Stipend of $1,000 per production.
- Lead Carpenter/Scenic Painters - Assist with the construction and painting of sets in our Milwaukie shop and with the load-in and strike in the Winningstad Theater for all productions. Stipend of $750 per production.​
​- Assistant Directors - For all shows. Stipend of $500 per production.
- Property Masters - Lead in the gathering, construction, and organization of props for KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMAN, HAIRSPRAY, and TOOTSIE. Stipend of $500 per production.
- Stage Crew - Work backstage during all productions. Stipend of $500 per production.
- Volunteer Builders and Painters - For all shows. As needed / available. Assist with light carpentry and painting in our Milwaukie warehouse. Receive two complimentary tickets and recognition in the playbill.

Stumptown Stages is now accepting in-person audition registrations and web submissions for its 2024/2025 Season of KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMAN, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, HAIRSPRAY, and TOOTSIE. Auditions may be performed in person on June 15, 2024 (appointment required), or submitted via web before June 16, 2024. General Details -
- All parts are currently open.
- ALL roles are open to actors of ANY ethnicity unless a character's ethnicity has been specifically required by the authors.
- Paying, non-AEA productions.
- Principal cast will receive a stipend of $950 for each production they are cast in a principal role.
- Supporting cast will receive a stipend of $625 for each production they are cast in a support role.
- Understudies receive an additional stipend of $125 per production. Understudies are not guaranteed a performance.
- All rehearsals will be held in Milwaukie OR.
- All performances will be in the Winningstad Theatre, Portland'5, Portland OR
