As a small business owner, I’ve learned that running a business comes with challenges, obstacles, and lessons that can only be learned through experience.

Sometimes, new business owners are simply looking for a little guidance, advice, or encouragement from someone who has already walked a similar path. We all had to start somewhere, and none of us knew everything when we first began.

Nobody talks about how hard it is to price your services high enough to keep a business running while remaining affordable for customers.

When you pay for lawn care, you're not just paying for someone to cut grass. Your price helps cover:

🚜 Equipment: Lawn mowers, w**d eaters, blowers, blades, and other tools.

⛽ Fuel: Gas for equipment and the truck or trailer used to travel to your property.

🔧 Maintenance and repairs: Oil changes, replacement parts, sharpening blades, and keeping equipment in working condition.

🛡️ Insurance and business expenses: Protecting the business and covering the costs of operating legally and professionally.

⏰ Time and labor: Travel time, setup, mowing, edging, w**d eating, blowing off driveways and sidewalks, and cleaning up afterward.

A wreck happened early this morning as I began my first yard behind the Target area. After my second yard, a car with a county commissioner logo or something tried turning right as I was turning right. It was my turn. Then I saw a truck almost get t-boned on another street.

It's Friday, I understand but please drive safely! Insurance companies and lawyers won't help you these days. Ask me how I know. Doesn't matter if it wasn't your fault.

Ppl drive to stupid these days!

The car that was in the middle of the road left some liquid on road. So I am guessing the car coming my direction did not make the stop. Please be careful out there.

Clients,

Next week's forecast (may) seem to be on the wetter side. Which I hope it is. We need the rain! If I need to, I will work Sunday and Monday very late to get yards done (if needed). With cooler temps, grass may grow slower but keep in mind that any moisture and warm temperatures during the day can cause grass to keep growing.

Just know that I always pay attention to the weather and your lawns. If cooler temps and not enough rain, we can slowly start skipping again. Especially my weekly yards. Bi-weekly yards may stay Bi-weekly for a while longer.

Any questions or concerns please let me know. It doesn't matter how early or late it is. I do my schedule on Sunday evening's so just know that your yard is already scheduled if it is your turn that week. If I don't show up, I may have decided to skip without asking you. Just know I know when to skip and not to skip.

My boys 2nd hit. Been getting after him while we practice in our back yard so he knows what he is doing out there and doesn't look lost. No time to play around. We here to learn and show we got talent! I take my job and sports very seriously!
