In recent years, invertebrates on farms have received a little more mainstream attention, often under the broader umbrella of “regenerative agriculture,” a loosely defined philosophy that proposes farms should improve rather than diminish natural resources. With supporting investments from the U...

Moms!!! The real bad-asses of this epic human story. And while our politics, cultural norms, and societal structures don’t often show the gratitude and support deserved, we can try our best to show them our love. ⛅️

I’m back baby!!!

After an unexpected 2+ years hiatus I’m returning to this work I love so much. I’ve missed y’all!

It’s spring, albeit a cold and wet one, and there’s a lot to do in the garden. Tell me what you’re up to! How’s your garden growing? What are you most excited about right now?

If you have a minute, check out our new website linked in the profile. We’re launching some exciting new offerings and of course keeping the crowd favorites, like the apprenticeships in pest & disease management and fruit tree pruning, custom consults for design help with plant selection, placement, and troubleshooting.

So there we have it! I look forward to sharing seasonal tips again here in social media land and hopefully seeing you in person in your very own garden ecology soon.

Thanks for sticking by and staying dedicated to supporting small local businesses like this one. YOU make this world a better place and I’m so grateful for each and every one of you. Keep growing y’all!

I’ve not had it in me to keep up with social media these days and am still on maternity leave, but wanted to say hi and share the news of our baby with y’all. His name is Pierce Rivers Johnston and he’s such a sweetheart. We’re filled to the brim with love and want to say thank you to everyone for your support and kindness during our transition to parenthood. Stay tuned for garden coaching updates as we settle into our new life with baby. Thanks everyone!

Winter pruning season is here! Check out some tips for having a successful winter pruning season in your own home orchard.

1) Clean and sharpen your tools. Maybe even invest in a new tool or two? A nice set of warm gloves, new hand pruners, or a small pruning saw can really make the job so much more enjoyable!

2) Brush up on your skills and knowledge by flipping through a pruning book, attending a workshop, or getting some on-site coaching from your's truly. Check out my website for more info.
