I had planted two Honeyberry (Lonicera caerulea) bushes originally, but one died. This year, I realised the survivor was flowering and hurried to add another in time for cross-pollination, but alas, I was too late!
All these berries came from the tiny new shrub, which was likely pollinated at the nursery. πŸ™‚
Next year, it's gonna be great! πŸ’™

I πŸ’œ my wagon!
I call it the Mars Rover. πŸ™‚
After 25 years of wheelbarrowing, I have graduated to this lovely workhorse. I was initially skeptical, but I am a big fan now.
It has a dumper and big sturdy wheels, and can carry very heavy loads. But the best thing is that you don't need to use your hand and arm strength to keep it balanced-- my hands, wrists, and elbows are pretty worn out after so many years of landscape work, so that is a huge plus!
The only thing this cart cannot do is navigate tight spaces; a wheelbarrow is still needed for those areas.
**Pro tip: add solid wheels to make this thing virtually indestructible. Standard wheelbarrow wheels fit!

Woohoo! My client sent me a snap of the *complete* front yard food garden! She has added grow bags wherever they will fit, and arched trellises for vertical climbers. So impressive! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

Recenty, I got to visit a newer garden that was installed last summer. It is looking great!
This is a client I first met 12(!!) years ago when we did a small installation in their parking strip.
Back then, they had a kindergartner and needed their lawn for soccer practice, puppy training, and playing tag with the neighbors.
Now, with their high schooler looking ahead to college, they realised it was time to update the space for a couple of hip, freewheeling grownups.
We removed the entire front lawn and converted it to this drought-tolerant mix of shrubs, perennials, and grasses.
We also redesigned their back garden and patio for more of a 'breezy dinner on the patio with friends' vibe.
Things change. Bring your outdoor space along for the life you have now! Check out my website for more information: www.asthecrowfliesgarden.com
