Black Cat Plumbing, Inc. Is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be flexible, highly organized, motivated, detail-oriented and ready to take on various projects and administrative tasks. While experience in systems and roles listed below is preferred, but the ideal candidate would be prepared to learn new systems, new roles and new skills to complete various office tasks. We are constantly improving our technological and other processes, so the candidate must be comfortable and proficient working with computers and technology. This position would report to the Office Manager, but would provide support for multiple departments. This would be an on-site position, but we have limited on-site staff at this time and observe strict COVID distancing and mask protocols.
Black Cat Plumbing was started in 2006 as a plumbing service shop by Mike Perrotti. With a reputation as a top quality installer and an expert in high efficiency water heating, the business quickly expanded. Over the years we have become a team of top notch installers and creative problem solvers. Black Cat has some of the best plumbers in the trade and as a training facility for the Oregon Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee we plan on making more of them. We continue to work for Portland’s finest Custom Home Builders & Remodelers. We continue to build out and service Portland’s unique Restaurants & Cafes. Most of all, we continue to help Portland homeowners to expand, develop, and solve plumbing problems.
Duties for the position – to Support the Office Manager, Payroll, Billing, and Human Resources in various office tasks and project work. Areas of work include:
· Payroll processes including double checking payroll for potential errors and other payroll related tasks.
· Billing processes including double checking invoices for potential errors and other billing related tasks.
· HR processes including on-boarding and off-boarding employees, maintaining employee information in computer systems, and processing paper and electronic employee records.
· Workers Compensation tracking, paperwork and monitoring.
· Occasional Dispatch back up, including answering phones and directing customers to the appropriate parties.
· Various other office project work as required.
Required Skills:
· The ability to maintain a high level of organization in a fast-paced, multi-tasking role.
· Proficient general computer skills, including typing, general file navigation and basic office programs (We use G-Suite).
· Teamwork oriented with good communication skills.
· A high level of attention to detail.
· A strong ability to learn new computer applications as needed.
· Quickbooks experience preferred, but not required.
Compensation:
· $20 per hour
· Employer paid medical insurance after probationary period.
