Two sets of mother Killdeer taking their chicks out for a stroll. Amazing behavioral footage.
Precocial Birds (birds that are born mobile and ready to go )chicks running around. KillDeer are shore birds and they lay their eggs right on the ground in what's called a "scrape" to keep them from rolling. The eggs are fully camouflage and are really cool looking. Because of all this, the mother has internal instincts to perform a display of injury to entice predators to leave the chicks alone and pursue her. I knew this Bird was gonna do this broken wing display before it even happened. They all do it. Very cool
When I taught biology at Maloney high school these KillDeer species used to lay eggs right on the roof of the high school because it emulated shore like conditions. I remember a class I took outside was able to see all this behavior and they loved it.
Long winded post, but none of this was googled or AI Bird app generated. Lol. i'm one of the few that doesn't ever regret going to grad school. 😊.

Raccoon exclusion Tying not to be the surrogate stepfather of another litter of Raccoons. Tossing some bore, or male raccoon urine on the babies hoping the mother will leave the attic and take her YOUNG with her keeping them together. Interesting fact that male Raccoons will kill the kits in order to make the female coming to actress and have another letter with the mail. So I'm tossing a rag of male urine on the babies hoping the mother will grab them all and leave tonight.
