SMB Cybersecurity Tip: Multifactor authentication (MFA) made simple
Think of multifactor authentication (MFA) as a double-lock system for your digital life. Just like you wouldn’t secure your house with only a simple lock, you shouldn’t protect your business accounts with just a password.
Modern MFA is easier than ever:
Touch your phone’s fingerprint sensor.
Look at your phone for face recognition.
Tap “Accept” on your phone when logging in.
Use an authenticator app to generate codes.
No more waiting for text messages or typing in complicated codes (unless you want to)!
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Cybercriminals have gotten clever about tricking people into accepting MFA prompts. Our golden rule: If you didn’t just try to log in and you get an MFA prompt, DENY IT and change your password immediately!
Pro Tip: Use an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator) instead of text messages for your verification codes. It’s more secure and works even without cell service!
