When disaster strikes, it's our people who make the difference. 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺 is your chance to meet the technicians, project managers, and team members who show up every day to make sure everything goes right.
𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝘆𝗹𝗲! For the past five years, Kyle has been helping homeowners through some of life's most difficult moments as a Lead Mitigation Technician based out of our Portsmouth, NH office. No two days look the same. One day he's writing estimates and meeting with insurance adjusters, the next he's inspecting a loss, setting drying equipment, responding to an emergency call, or performing demolition.
What Kyle enjoys most about the work is helping people. "𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿. 𝗜 𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽, 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀." He says people often see the equipment, demolition, and cleanup, but not the human side of restoration. Behind every project is a family experiencing an unexpected loss, and restoring a sense of hope and normalcy is just as important as restoring the property itself.
One project that stands out involved a 1915 home damaged by fire. After demolition had begun, the homeowners decided they wanted to preserve the home's original wood trim. Kyle carefully removed the remaining century-old trim, allowing it to be reused during reconstruction. Not only did it preserve an important part of the home's history, but it also saved the homeowners money they were able to invest back into their rebuild.
As a member of our Large Loss and CAT team, Kyle also travels to communities impacted by natural disasters. Helping families begin the recovery process after hurricanes and other catastrophic events is one of the most meaningful parts of his job. "𝗜'𝗺 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜 𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁."
Outside of work, Kyle has been collecting Funko Pops with his dad for over 10 years. Along the way, he's met actors and voice actors behind some of his favorite characters, and even has a custom Funko Pop made of himself!
And if you're wondering why Kyle looks so familiar... it's because he's volunteered for more Insurcomm photo shoots than we can count. Thanks for always saying "yes" when the marketing team comes calling! 👏
