All things Pipe Organs - Providing new instruments, rebuilding and historical restorations, voicing, tuning and service, consoles, additions and consulting. Established in 1987, Patrick J. Murphy & Associates is one of the largest, full service, Pipe Organbuilders in the Northeast. Since then the primary goal of Patrick J. Murphy & Associates has been to professionally envision and construct new pipe organs and restore existing instruments that transcend the aesthetic and artistic vision of our clients in a personable, knowledgeable, and practical manner.

We are happy to sign off today on our latest project. This 2/17 retains most pipework from the many rebuildings (1945-54-71) by Aeolian-Skinner as well as new reed stops. Our new console, windchests, expression boxes and winding system utilize a new layout to make servicing easier. The case is by Pomplitz.

I am pleased to introduce our new Business manager Mr. Gary Homanick who will be working to manage all departments of our continually growing firm including service and tuning. Gary Homanick was raised in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, and is a 2008 Architectural Studies / MBA graduate from Philadelphia University and a 2009 master’s degree graduate in Construction Project Management from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. During his time working in “The Land Down Under”, he was introduced to the organ building and maintenance industry through working for the City of Sydney Council as a project administrator / assistant project manager for the Grand Organ preservation project in the Sydney Town Hall. After sixteen years of working in building construction, Gary has now returned to organ building and maintenance sector equipped with the leadership skills and managerial experience to help accelerate PJM’s progress forward. Outside of work, Gary enjoys physical fitness, creating conceptual arts, retro ‘80s and ‘90s nostalgia, researching new technologies, and being a devoted husband and father. Welcome to PJM Gary!

This past Saturday we welcomed a visit from our colleagues of APOBA (Associated Pipe Organ Builders of American). Following a shop tour where several PJM workers demonstrated various crafts, the group enjoyed lunch before departing for other organ projects in the Philadelphia area.
