M.J. Nester is proud to stand with ABC Eastern Pennsylvania in opposition to SB 908.

This legislation would:
🔹 Extend prevailing wage to offsite fabrication
🔹 Eliminate split-rate pay

For companies like ours, this means increased costs, added complexity, and reduced competitiveness—ultimately putting Pennsylvania jobs at risk.

Our work depends on efficient coordination between shop fabrication and field installation. SB 908 disrupts that model and threatens how projects are delivered across our industry.

M.J. Nester Specialty Contractors proudly joined OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down with a company-wide Toolbox Talk focused on fall hazards and prevention.

Our foremen led impactful safety discussions across job sites in South Carolina, Tennessee, and New Jersey, while our Pottstown shop crew also took part. Teams reviewed ladder safety, fall protection inspections, elevated work hazards, housekeeping best practices, and the importance of stopping work when conditions aren’t safe—sharing real-world experiences along the way to strengthen our safety culture.

We were honored to join Reading Area Community College in celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Schmidt Training and Technology Center.

The MJ Nester team had the unique opportunity to connect with Robert Herjavec, widely recognized for his role on Shark Tank ABC . It was a meaningful conversation centered around our shared appreciation for the millwright trade and the future of skilled labor.

During our discussion, we highlighted what makes MJ Nester unique—our ability to deliver turnkey solutions that integrate mechanical, electrical, and fabrication capabilities under one roof. Robert appreciated the value of this approach and how it supports efficiency, quality, and long-term growth.

He also spoke about his father’s journey immigrating to Canada from present-day Croatia, emphasizing the importance of hard work, learning a trade, and developing a deep understanding of equipment and systems—including PLCs like Allen-Bradley, which MJ Nester proudly installs.

When we say "confined space," we mean it. This custom weigh hopper was engineered for a client who needed to fit a massive unit into an incredibly tight installation area.

How we made it work:

Transportation: The hopper is transported as a single, sturdy assembly to ensure it arrives safely.

Turnkey Solution: Once on-site, the unit is fully disassembled.

Human-Scale Logistics: We used a precise flanged connection design, making disassembly and reassembly fast and efficient. Each section is sized so that a two-person crew can handle, position, and assemble it in place within its final home.

From the engineering shop to the final bolt, we focus on making the entire process—including the logistics—as efficient as possible for our customers.
